Im Bereich des Militärflugplatzes Jirah in der syrischen Provinz Aleppo sind intensive Kämpfe im Gange.
Anfang dieser Woche erreichten die Tiger-Einheiten der syrischen Armee den IS-Militärflugplatz betraten ihn erfolgreich und eliminierten in Zusammenstößen einige Terroristen. Erst sah es so aus als hätten die Regierungs-Truppen sogar die taktische Kontrolle über den Flugplatz gewonnen, aber sie versäumten es, die Gewinne zu festigen.
Am 11. März gingen die Zusammenstöße in der Gegend weiter, wo die Tiger-Einheiten versuchen, die IS-Einheiten aus dem Gebiet zu drängen. Die Kämpfe wurden von der russischen Luftwaffe mittels mehrerer Luftangriffe gegen IS unterstützt.

Hmm I ask a rhetorical question here – why does Russia do everything it can to avoid pointing out that it the Saudis that run the show? Qatar supports the Brotherhood – and the Brotherhood opposes Salafism. My reading of this is that the author doesn’t actually believe that Qatar is doing all this – rather they are too cowardly to point the finger at the door of the King, rather blame the Prince. Why comments?
